Recognized astronomical and/or space-oriented associations, observatories or scientific organizations can borrow (or purchase) certain educational materials, which are themselves designed or owned by Astropolis, at a fair price. Ranging from self-designed software, scale models, information panels, educational posters to complete exhibitions.

Our self-designed exhibitions, or XPOs as we call them, are printed on single-sided fabric banners of one by two meters or two by two meters. The printing quality is very high and we have ensured that not only the photos are displayed large and clearly, but also the Dutch texts are clearly legible. The advantage of this is that, after use, the entire XPO can be neatly stored in one box. Beautiful and very practical!

The banners are stretched on modern white aluminum ‘frames’ using special rubber clamps. The ‘frames’ are very similar to ‘trusses’ that are used in space travel, among other things. The aluminum ‘frames’ are not lent out but are reused by us in a different configuration.

From pressure to spacesuit (2023)

The ‘From print to space suit’ XPO consists of 12 banners (1 x 2 m) printed on high-resolution fabric. When the Montgolfier brothers first demonstrated the capabilities of a hot air balloon in Annonay, France, on June 4, 1783, they may have never imagined that their invention would lead directly to the first pressure suit. In the upper atmosphere, at an altitude of about 18 kilometers, there is the Armstrong limit where the oxygen content and pressure become so low that a human cannot survive there. Hence the development of a pressure suit that was later also used in military aviation and eventually evolved into the modern space suit with which we can travel in the vacuum of space but also on other celestial bodies… The banners must be hung by means of fishing line or other wire on the wall or ceiling. No holes may be made in the banners using nails, thumbnails or similar. Is loaned in a sturdy plastic box. We can put you in touch with a collector of unique pressure and space suits to complete this XPO. This set contains 12 banners and an extensive multimedia presentation (PPT).

The ‘Race to the Moon’ XPO consists of 55 banners (1 x 2 and 2 x 2 m) printed on high-resolution fabric. Our ‘Race to the Moon’ XPO takes you back to the past when prehistoric man designed the first lunar calendar as a hunting aid. The Moon also appeared to stimulate our imagination. Was it the place where the gods lived? Could we ever fly there? A dream that has continued to haunt us and led directly to the development of the first rocket and ultimately the impressive Apollo project. Today we are again making plans to visit our nearest neighbor with the Artemis missions….
